Policy debates on structural transformation billed for Gabon and Congo

Libreville (Gabon)/Brazzaville  (Congo), 05 December 2016 (ECA) – The UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) is organising a twin set of policy debates to begin mapping out pathways for structural transformation in Central Africa, notably in Gabon (8 December 2016 at Radisson Blu Hotel in Libreville) and in the Republic of Congo (15 December 2016 at Radisson Blu Hotel in Brazzaville).

Conclave to revitalise UN’s support to AU/NEPAD programme in Central Africa

Industrial policy exchange billed for Yaounde

Multiple actors to review ECA’s 4th Governance report in Yaounde

Cameroon: stage set for inclusive and sustainable cities

Yaounde, Cameroon, 8 Nov 2016 (ECA) – Some 30 senior officials from several Government Ministries in Cameroon are concerting to roll out an ECA-facilitated project to strengthen the capacities of African countries to transform their burgeoning cities into poles of inclusive and sustainable development. The US$500 thousand project, which covers Cameroon, Cabo Verde, Morocco, Uganda and Zambia, has been commissioned within the 9th tranche of the UN’s Development Account.

Cameroon and ECA hitch horses for further development cooperation

Yaounde, 19 October 2016 (ECA) - The Government of Cameroon and the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) have recommitted to work hand in glove for both the structural transformation of the country and the regional integration of the Central African subregion. Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to collaborate as the new Director of the Subregional Office for Central Africa – Mr Antonio M.A. Pedro presented his letters of introduction to Cameroon’s Minister of External Relations – H.E. Mr Lejeune Mbella Mbella this evening.
