Expert meeting kicks off in Douala with focus on economic diversification in Central Africa

Douala, 26 September 2017 (ECA) - The 33rd Meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee of Experts for Central Africa (ICE2017) kicked off on 26 September in Douala, Cameroon, under the theme, “Made in Central Africa: from a vicious to a virtuous circle.” 

The four-day event provides a unique opportunity for high-level policy makers, captains of industry and other stakeholders to reflect on ways of creating resilient and globally competitive economies in Central Africa through the promotion of local production and consumption.

ECA’s Pedro says journalists are ‘partners’ in Central Africa’s transformation Agenda

ECA praised for “excellent initiative” in Central Africa

Yaoundé, 12 September 2017 (ECA) - Cameroon’s minister of trade, Luc Magloire Mbarga Atangana, has described the upcoming meeting of the Inter-Governmental Committee of Experts for Central Africa (ICE2017) as “an excellent initiative,” given its focus on promoting industrialization, regional integration and the consumption of products made in Central Africa.

Mr. Atangana was speaking during a meeting with Antonio Pedro, Director of ECA’s Sub regional Office for Central Africa, on 12 September 2017 in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Pilot project to integrate land governance concerns in agriculture launched in DRC

Kinshasa, D.R. Congo, August 10, 2017 (ECA) - The Land Policy Initiative (LPI) was recently in Kinshasa in the Democratic Republic of Congo where it launched the pilot project to mainstream land governance concerns in the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Program (CAADP).

The launch took place during an inception workshop organized by the LPI in partnership with the DRC government.

ECA hosts webinar on need for efficient industries in Central Africa

Yaoundé, 7 July, 2017 (ECA) -   The sub-regional office of the Economic Commission for Africa in Central Africa (ECA SRO-CA) on July 6, 2017, organized a webinar on the importance of building efficient industries to ensure sustainable economic development in the sub region. The event took place at the International Relations Institute of Cameroon (IRIC).
