Zimbabwe’s National Consultative Forum on the African continental free trade area slated for 19 June

Lusaka, Zambia, 12 June 2019 (MoFAIT, AUC, ECA & ATPC) –  Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in partnership with the Economic Commission for Africa Office for Southern Africa (ECA-SA), the African Union Commission (AUC), and the African Trade Policy Centre (ATPC) will jointly hold the national consultative forum on; ‘The African continental free trade area: Developing a National AfCFTA Implementation Strategy for Zimbabwe’ from 19th to 20th June, 2019.

African Ministers of Trade pave way for the operationalisation of the AfCFTA and prepare for the July Niamey AU Summit

Addis Ababa, 09 June 2019 (ECA)-African Ministers of Trade (AMOT) of the African Union met in Addis Ababa at the African Union Commission (AUC) Headquarters from 7 to 8 June 2019. The meeting was preceded by the meeting of the 8th Senior Trade Officials (STO) and the 15th Negotiating Forums (NF).

The meeting was attended by African Union ministers and delegates from member states, officials of the AUC, ECA, AfreximBank, Regional Economic Communities, African Development Bank and United Nations Conference on Trade and Development.

Zambian National Consultative Forum on the African Continental Free Trade Area marks start of wider Stakeholder Consultation Process

Lusaka, Zambia, 24 May 2019 - The National Consultative Forum on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) concluded on 24th May at Mulungushi Conference in Lusaka, Zambia. This marks the beginning of the wider stakeholder consultation process from 27-31 May 2019, which will feed into Zambia’s national implementation strategy for the AfCFTA.

Congo gears towards continental trade strategy
