Strengthening artisanal and small-scale mining for socio-economic development, poverty reduction and the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals in West Africa

Niamey, 28 June 2013 (ECA) - The Sub-Regional Office for West Africa of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA/SRO-WA) will organize an ad hoc experts group meeting on the theme “strengthening artisanal and small-scale mining for socio-economic development, poverty reduction and the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals in West Africa”, from July 9 to 10, 2013 in Dakar, Senegal.

Ghana hosts discussions on 2013 Economic Report on Africa, supports its recommendations

Finance Minister Okonjo-Iweala to Launch Africa Economic Report

Abuja,  10 July  2013 (ECA) – The 2013 Economic Report of Africa jointly produced by the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the African Union Commission (AUC) will be launched in Abuja on July 11. Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala will deliver the keynote address at the public presentation in Nigeria at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, starting at 9 a.m., ECA said today in a statement released in Abuja.
