A new Management Guide for an emerging Côte d’Ivoire

Report on sustainable development goals for the West Africa sub region

The present report on sustainable development goals (SDGs) for the West Africa sub region is one of five sub regional reports prepared within the framework of the Africa Post-2015 and Rio+20 follow-up processes to support African countries in their efforts to effectively engage in the global SDG process and to ensure that the goals to be agreed are well aligned with the region’s sustainable development priorities.

Improving the synergy of actions between the ECA and the Inter-Governmental Organizations

A meeting of the Regional Integration Committee bringing together the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the West African Economic and Monetary Union (WAEMU) and twenty Inter-Governmental Organizations (IGOs) operating in the sub-region will be held on September 3-4, 2015, at the Belle Côte Hotel in Abidjan [Côte d’Ivoire].

Encouraging West African countries to produce reliable statistics

Niamey, 18 August 2015 (ECA) - The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) will organize on September 1-2, 2015 at the Hotel Belle Côte in Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire) a meeting for the focal points of the eight (8) countries of West Africa for which the development of country profiles was programmed for the biennial period of 2014-2015. These are Cape Verde, Côte d’Ivoire, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Niger, Nigeria and Senegal.

Carlos Lopes, President Condé discuss post-Ebola Guinea

Conakry, Guinea, 29 June 2015 (ECA) – On the invitation of H.E. Prof. Alpha Condé – the President of the Republic of Guinea, the Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) – Mr Carlos Lopes, paid an official visit to that West African country on 27 June 2015.

During the visit, the two leaders discussed several issues, at length, especially, the support that ECA would provide to Guinea, to help it revive its economy badly shaken by the Ebola scourge.
