Côte d’Ivoire receives a boost for development planning from the ECA

Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire), February 20, 2017 (ECA) – On Monday, the Ivoirian Government, through the Ministry of Planning and Development (MPD) and the Sub-Regional Office for West Africa of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), launched the support project to strengthen development planning in Côte d’Ivoire.

Senegal, ECA and NEPAD to launch Infrastructure Investment Tool in Dakar

Dakar, 10 December 2016 (ECA) – A global tool designed to increase private sector investment in Africa's transboundary infrastructure will be unveiled in Dakar on 15 December at the King Fahd Hotel.

The tool, "16: Infrastructure Projects for African Integration" was produced by the Economic Commission for Africa and NEPAD Agency at the request of President Macky Sall of Senegal

Clarion call for all ECOWAS member-states to accede to APRM – Africa’s flagship governance programme

Abidjan (Côte d’Ivoire), 28 Nov 2016 (ECA/APRM/ECOWAS) - At the opening of the West Africa regional workshop on the Africa Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) this morning in the Ivorian capital, a clear call was made for the four countries in the sub-region yet to adhere to the initiative to do so, as the APRM is a « great tool for good governance » that can speed up their development.

Improve transport infrastructure and the competitiveness of West Africa

Dakar, 23 November 2016 (ECA) -  The Sub-Regional Office for West Africa of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA/SRO-WA), in collaboration with the Senegalese Government, organized an ad-hoc experts’ group meeting on the theme: "Transport infrastructure and trade in West Africa", in Dakar the 22 and 23 November 2016.

The primary aim of the meeting was to take stock of the transport infrastructure in West Africa and assess their impact on intra-regional trade and the competitiveness of the sub-region and regional integration.

Senegal includes the ASDI and T21 model in its Planning

Dakar, 15 - 17 November 2016 (ECA/SRO-WA). - Senegal has, since February 2014, embarked on the implementation of the Plan Senegal Emergent -PSE-2014-2018, the first plan intended to operationalize Vision Senegal 2035. Priority is thus given to the implementation of effective tools for the formulation, analysis, monitoring and evaluation of development policies. In this respect, the Government of Senegal, in collaboration with ECA, initiated the development and popularization of three major tools in the development policy formulation, monitoring, analysis and evaluation mechanism.
