ECA launches first report on SDG implementation in Maghreb countries

Tunis, 2 November (ECA) The ECA Office for North Africa launched on Friday 2 November in Tunis (Republic of Tunisia) the first Report on SDG implementation in Maghreb countries.

This report is being published three years after the launch of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) which summarize global development ambitions, thus providing an opportunity to make an initial stock take of progress made by Algeria, Mauritania, Morocco and Tunisia.

Stakeholders highlight quality data as a priority for North Africa

ECA calls for improved access to data for a deeper analysis of economic distortions

Quality of public policies plays a key role in structural transformation and job creation

Rabat, 26 September 2018 (ECA) – The ECA Office in North Africa initiated today in Rabat (Morocco) an expert group meeting under the theme: “Quality of institutions and structural transformation: distortions and resource allocation in North Africa”

In the next two days, governance and public policy experts, international organization representatives and officials from member countries (Algeria, Egypt, Mauritania, Morocco, Sudan and Tunisia) will examine the relationship between the quality of institutions and structural transformation.

ECA studies impact of resource allocation on structural transformation

Rabat, 19 September (ECA) - The ECA Office for North Africa is holding, on 26-27 September in Rabat an expert group meeting on “Quality of institutions and structural transformation:distortions andresource allocation in North Africa”.

This event will provide north african and international academics and experts specialised in governance and public policy issues with an opportunity to better understand the impact of resource allocation mechanisms on strctural transformation and therefore countries’ equitable and sustainable development.
