The overarching objective of the course is to contribute to the development of a critical mass of highly skilled middle and senior development officials and decision makers who have a strong social policy consciousness and orientation, and who will be suitably or better equipped to design and manage development plans in which social and economic policies and strategies are fully interfaced to deliver the kinds of transformative outcomes desired.IDEP strongly encourages and supports the participation of suitably qualified female officials in its capacity development and training programme. D

Mineral Policy and Contract Negotiations

The overarching objective of the course is to contribute to the development of a critical mass of highly skilled middle and senior policy officials and decision makers who will be suitably or better equipped to design and manage mining policy for the development of their countries, sub-regions and the continent. A robust mining policy must necessarily be built on a clear developmental vision; such a vision must also inform the contractual negotiations that are held, so that in this way, vision, policy and negotiations are properly interfaced to achieve desired outcomes.

Study Visit to the Sèmè- Kraké, Border Post and Technical Meeting on “Enhancing the Mobility of People and Goods at Borders”

The African Institute for Economic Development and Planning is playing a co-lead role in the organization of a study visit to the Sèmè Border Post, between Benin and Nigeria, and a technical meeting on enhancing the mobility of people and goods at borders. The event is scheduled to be held in Benin from the 3rd – 5th July, 2013.BackgroundThis event is organized under the project support to the Africa - EU Partnership on Migration, Mobility and Employment (MME) launched by the European Commission (EC) and the African Union Commission (AUC).
