The course aims at providing training on agricultural policy with a view to strengthening and/or renewing the knowledge and capacity of African policy makers, including senior managers, negotiators, advisors, planners and analysts, to meet the core challenges of growing the agricultural sector as a central engine of national economic development and social policy.

IDEP celebrates Human Rights Day by organizing a round table on migration

The African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) joined the International Organization for Migrations (IOM) to organize a series of three round table discussions on the topic “Assisted Voluntary Return and Rehabilitation of Migrants in Senegal”.  The first edition of this series was held on Thursday December 10, 2015 at the IDEP head office.

Senegal, like many other African countries, has many programs and initiatives intended to support migrants living in the European Union and wishing to return to their country of origin.

African Institute for Economic Development and Planning and the University of Johannesburg launch call for industrial policy course

Addis Ababa, 13 November 2015 (ECA) – A joint initiative by the African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) and the University of Johannesburg has opened calls for applications and nominations for a pan-African postgraduate training programme in Industrial Policy with a deadline set for 15December 2015.

Fundamentals of Development Planning

Objectives

The aim of the course is to strengthen the capacities of planners, economists and other policymakers involved in the formulation and management of national development plans to ensure that they have a clear understanding and the required knowledge and skills related to development planning approaches, processes, the different actors involved, and the key stages and crucial steps in the development planning process.
