What transformative social policy to leave no one behind in africa ?

Dakar, August 10, 2018 – As part of its series of seminars, IDEP hosted a panel discussion on « What transformative social policy to leave no one behind in africa ? ». This seminar brought together more than twenty African experts : officials from Member States meeting on the occasion of the program of capacity building on social policies, as well as academics working on issues relating to the development of the continent. The roundtable was held August 09, 2018 in the IDEP conference room.

IDEP Research Seminar

IDEP welcomed four Tajudeen Abdul Raheem research fellows that worked for 3 months. During their research stay at IDEP the researchers have each produced a policy research report/working paper and a policy brief which could contribute to pushing forward the borders of development action and strengthen the interface between research and policy-making in Africa.

Retreat of the IDEP Technical Advisory Committee

From 31 October to 01 November 2018, the IDEP Technical Advisory Committee retreat was held in Dakar (Senegal) on the review of IDEP's training activities and research program. The purpose of this retreat was to bring together members of the Technical Advisory Committee, directors and resource persons of courses, ECA representatives, IDEP partners and high-level experts to evaluate training offers.

Development planners trained on Macroeconomic Modelling

IDEP, as part of its capacity building activities, organized a course on «Macroeconomic Modelling» from 7 to 18 May 2018 in Dakar, Senegal. This course is intended for middle and senior managers in charge of economic policy analysis and planning issues in African Member States. Some 22 anglophone and francophone participants took part in the bilingual training session.

Road safety: a real challenge in Africa

A training on road safety leadership took place at IDEP from May 28 to June 1, 2018. Around 30 African executives coming from agencies, offices and centers dealing with road safety issues, ministries of transport, internal security, Police and Security Departments, as well as Prime Ministers and Parliamentarians, gathered to discuss road safety issues in national development strategies.
