ECA organize a series of events on Africa’s digital transformation in Geneva - 2018 WTO Public Forum

Geneva, 5 October 2018 - The African Trade Policy Centre (ATPC) of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) co-organized a number of events at the 2018 WTO Public Forum, which took place 2-4 October at the WTO headquarters in Geneva. The Forum provided a space for policy makers, trade negotiators, international organizations, the private sector, civil society and academia from across the world, to come together to discuss sustainable trade, technology-enabled trade and a more inclusive trading system.

IDEP and the University of Johannesburg strengthen their partnership for training and research

Dakar 20 June 2018 - A delegation from the University of Johannesburg (UJ) paid a three-day working visit to the African Institute for Economic Development and Planningn in Dakar. During this visit, which ended on June 20, discussions focused on topics related to training and research in Africa.

Mainstreaming climate information in agricultural policies to develop resilience and better productivity through IDEP course on Agricultural Policy in Africa

From 7 to 18 May 2018, the African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) organized a course on Agricultural Policy in Africa for the benefit of 28 public officials drawn from the following African countries : Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cameroon, Central Africa, Chad, Comoros, Ivory Coast, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Malawi, Mali, Mauritania, Namibia, Niger, Nigeria, Sao Tome & Principe, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Swaziland, Tunisia, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Migration Policy

The course aims to guide middle and senior level policymakers in Regional Economic Communities (REcCs); Public Policymakers from National Governments; Private Officials in National and Regional Civil Society Organisations on the formulation of migration policies that will enhance regional integration and actively contribute to the implementation of countries' development strategies.
