Objectives
At the end of the course, participants will be able to:
Data Analysis For Sustainable Development Planning
The overarching objective of the course is to contribute to the development of a critical mass of highly skilled middle and senior policy officials and decision makers who will be suitably or better equipped to collect and/or analyze data for the purpose of national, sub-regional, and regional sustainable development planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
Gender-responsive Economic Policy Management
The two-week course on Gender-Responsive Economic Policy Management aims at providing policymakers and development practitioners with the required skills and knowledge that are needed to identify and address gender biases in the economic sectors and to analyse economic policies and budgets from a gender perspective.
Macroeconomic Modelling For Sustainable Development Planning
The goal is to enable participants learn about how economic models are built and to use models to enquire and answer questions regarding how shocks affect the economy. This course aims to develop participants understanding and use of different models in the analysis of national economies and its sectors.
International Trade Policy & Trade Negotiations
The overarching objective of the course is to contribute to the development of a critical mass of highly skilled middle and senior policy officials and decision makers who will be suitably or better equipped to design and manage trade policy for the development of their countries, sub-regions and the continent.
Agricultural Policy in Africa
The course aims at providing training on agricultural policy with a view to strengthening and/or renewing the knowledge and capacity of African policy makers, including senior managers, negotiators, advisors, planners and analysts, to meet the core challenges of growing the agricultural sector as a central engine of national economic development and social policy.
Development Planners from The Gambia receive training from IDEP on Managing for Development Results
Banjul, December 10, 2018 - Government officials working in the development planning units of various ministerial departments of The Gambia are participating in a five-day Training of Trainers on “Managing for Development Results Through the Design of an Effective Results-Based M&E System”. The training is jointly organized by the Institute of Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), the United Nations Development Program and the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs.

The Ministry of Transport and Telecommunication of Mozambique contacted the African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP), for the organisation of the above-mentioned training for various officials from the civil service working on spatial planning.
