Geo-information technologies enable the collection, processing, analysis, visualization and dissemination of geospatial data efficiently, rapidly, and cost-effectively - using global positioning systems, remote sensing, and geographic information systems (GIS) – facilitating informed decisions on developmental issues.

The core functions under this section are the following:
Economic Statistics and National Accounts
The Economic Statistics and National Accounts deals with the System of National Accounts, Balance of Payments, Government Finance Statistics, Monetary and Financial Statistics, Price Statistics, International Trade Statistics, Satellite Accounts on Household Production, and the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting.
Our Focus
ECA aims to be the first port of call for member States seeking original data to inform policy decisions.Its long term objective is to serve as a regional service centre for data on economic, social, demographic, and environmental conditions in African countries.
