Achievement of SDGs in Africa won't be possible without high-quality data

Addis Ababa, 9 May 2018 (ECA) - The African Centre for Statistics (ACS) of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) will organise, on Sunday 13 May, a meeting to discuss how to address data gaps for Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) economic indicators in Africa.

The meeting will be hosted in Addis Ababa, alongside the ECA Conference of African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, will discuss how African national statistic systems could be improved to collect, process, and disseminate SDG data to adequately support national development objectives.

Regional Seminar on the Compilation and Application of Supply and Use Tables (SUTs)

Data can help manage human mobility, says ECA’s Chinganya

Paris, 22 January 2018 (ECA) – The ECA’s African Centre for Statistics (ACS) this week participated in the first ever International Forum on Migration Statistics that was held in Paris, France.

Niger marks Africa Statistics Day with call for Africa to scale-up production of quality data

Niamey, Niger, 20 November 2017 (ECA) - The government of Niger on Saturday joined other countries on the continent in marking the 27th Africa Statistics Day with officials urging the continent to scale-up efforts to produce quality data that will guide policy formulation processes and improve the lives of ordinary people. 

The event was organized in collaboration with the Sub-Regional Office for West Africa of the Economic Commission for Africa (SRO/WA-ECA).
