Meeting of the Continental Steering Committee for the African Project on the Implementation of the 2008 System of National Accounts

The African Project for the Implementation of the 2008 System of National Accounts (SNA) has been developed by the African Group on National Accounts (AGNA) to address the current challenges African countries face in producing timely and quality national accounts, in support of good economic governance, regional integration, and sustainable development. The Project is a continental, joint and coordinated effort of pan-African Institutions (ECA, AUC, and AfDB), Regional Economic Communities (RECs), Afristat, and Member States.

Report on the Sustainable Development Goals for North Africa

Regional Integration in North Africa 2013: Intraregional Trade and Trade Facilitation

Regional integration is a key aspect of the economic development of the countries of North Africa. Trade is an important element of this. It is clear that trade within the region is one of the weakest in Africa. The Arab Maghreb Union has not quite managed to create the strong momentum for promoting trade, called for by its member countries.

Launch of the Economic Report on Africa in Rabat

Rabat, 21 November 2014 (ECA) – To ensure that growth is both sustainable and beneficial to all strata of society in Africa, countries on the continent, including North Africa, must adopt industrial policies that are germane to their own local contexts and set up strong institutions with the mandate of formulating and pushing through such policies. These are the major recommendations of the Economic Report on Africa 2014 launched at the University Mohamed V, in Rabat, Morocco on 21 November 2014.
