Key players in Guinea's economy will review their country's AfCFTA National Strategy

Conakry (Guinea), December 18, 2019 – The key players in the economy of Guinea will examine the National Strategy for the Implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). This will take place during a validation workshop organised by the Ministry of Commerce of Guinea in collaboration with the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), the International Trade Centre and the African Union Commission, on December 18 and 19, in Conakry.

The Gambia hosts technical workshop on National AfCFTA Implementation Strategy

Experts from the public and private sector, representing government, civil society, young people, women and academia will meet from 18-19 December in Banjul, the Gambia.

AfDB, AUC and ECA launch Thematic Working group (TWG) on Investment, Trade and Industrialisation

AfCFTA forum identifies key challenges Nigeria should tackle ahead of ratification & implementation

Lagos, Nigeria, December 6, 2019 (ECA) – Nigeria’s national African Continental Free Trade Area Forum ended in Lagos Friday with participants identifying key issues that need to be addressed at government and business levels ahead of AfCFTA implementation in July 2020 to ensure the country realizes benefits of the historic agreement.

Complimentary policies needed to position Nigeria’s private sector for AfCTA gains

Lagos, Nigeria, December 6, 2019 (ECA) – Nigeria should invest in complementary policies to position the private sector to take advantage of the African Continental Free Trade Agreement (AfCFTA) as well as support groups that may be vulnerable to changes in trade, including women, the youth and micro-small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
