Africa urged to address challenges that may affect Paris Agreement implementation

Addis Ababa, 18 October 2016 (ECA) – There is an urgent need for African countries to review and revise their Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs) to address challenges that can affect the implementation of the Paris Agreement on climate change says Economic Commission for Africa’s Chief Economist and Deputy Executive Secretary, Abdalla Hamdok.

African Ambassadors meet in preparation for COP22

Rabat, 31st August 2016: The African Development Bank and the Economic Commission for Africa held today in Rabat, in partnership with the COP22 Steering Committee, an information session for African Ambassadors based in Morocco, in preparation for the upcoming Climate Change Conference. The meeting aimed to present the stakes for Africa at COP22, to prepare countries’ participation and to support existing efforts to coordinate the African participation at COP22.

Meeting adopts recommendations for implementation of Africa's Sustainable Development Agenda
