Promoting Private Sector Development as a Driver of Regional integration in Southern Africa

Lusaka, Zambia 6 June 2018 (ECA) –The Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) Office for Southern Africa in collaboration with the African Union Southern Africa Regional Office (AU-SARO) and Africa Business Group (ABG) is organising the Southern Africa Regional Integration Stakeholder Forum under the theme: “The Private Sector and Regional Integration in Southern Africa: Accelerating Opportunities for Investment and Growth” from June 11-13, 2018 in Lilongwe, Malawi.

Zambia launches online investment platform with ECA and UNCTAD support

Lusaka, Zambia, March 30, 2018 (ECA) - The Zambian iGuide, an electronic investment platform, was launched in Lusaka this week with technical support from the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).

The two sister organizations undertook the project jointly in line with the United Nations principle of “Delivering as One”.

Zambia National Land Policy Validation Workshop

The Ministry of Lands, Natural Resources and Environmental Planning (MLNREP) of Zambia in collaboration with the African Land Policy Centre (ALPC); formerly the Land Policy Initiative (LPI) and other partners is organizing a Validation Workshop for the National Draft Land Policy. The process aims at ensuring that the land policy addresses the Country’s peculiar needs and is representative of the interests of the various Stakeholders in the country.

This, according to high-level speakers from the African Union Commission, the NEPAD Agency, the African Development Bank and the Southern African Development Community (SADC), is key to closing the infrastructure gap and creating jobs in the continent.
