The Ministry of Lands, Natural Resources and Environmental Planning (MLNREP) of Zambia in collaboration with the African Land Policy Centre (ALPC); formerly the Land Policy Initiative (LPI) and other partners is organizing a Validation Workshop for the National Draft Land Policy. The process aims at ensuring that the land policy addresses the Country’s peculiar needs and is representative of the interests of the various Stakeholders in the country. 

The collaboration between the Ministry and ALPC dates back to 2013 when the MLNREP approached the ALPC for support in developing a comprehensive land policy for Zambia. This culminated into a project entitled LPI-ECA Support towards Participatory Land Policy Development in Zambia within which scope the draft land policy has finally been developed.

The meeting convenes Government Officials, Traditional Authorities; Community representatives, CSOs, development partners and other Stakeholders in the land sector to deliberate on the content of the draft land policy.
