Ownership of Agendas 2030 and 2063 by African countries under spotlight in IDEP meeting

Dakar, Senegal, September 12, 2017 (IDEP) – Within the framework of the African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) development seminar series, a high level round table dialogue on ownership of Agendas 2030 and 2063 by African countries, recently gathered decision makers, officials and experts from African countries and international organisations, private sector, academia and researchers working on issues related to the national ownership of regional and international development agendas.

Domestic Resource Mobilization And Investment In Africa

Objectives

The course aims to provide policy makers with a clear understanding of the key constraints to effective domestic and international resource mobilization and it will also present a range of policy options to increase the capacity for resource mobilization at several levels. While policy measures aimed at increasing the level of long term resources dedicated to the financing of the development process must be taken at both the international and national levels, this course will focus on the national level.

Governance and Development in Africa

The objective of the course is to develop the knowledge of policy makers on the key challenges to governance facing African countries and to explore alternative solutions to promote good governance necessary for sustainable and inclusive development.
The course will explore the different dimensions of governance and discuss initiatives and best practices to improve economic and political governance.
Discussions will be centered on the core issues central to governance and development.

Twenty African policymakers benefit from IDEP workshop on perspective studies

Dakar, 26 July 2017 (ECA) - The African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) organized a five day training workshop on perspective studies in Tunis, from the 17th - 21st July 2017.  The workshop was conducted in partnership with the Tunisian Institute for Strategic Studies (ITES) and the African Futures Institute.

Gender-responsive Economic Policy Management

Objectives

The two-week course on Gender-Responsive Economic Policy Management aims at providing policymakers and development practitioners with the required skills and knowledge to identify and address gender biases in the economic sectors and to analyse economic policies and budgets from a gender perspective. The course is bilingual (English and French) and is delivered by the African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP).
