UNITED NATIONS : As the international community narrows its focus on the war-torn countries making up the continent of Africa, Carlos Lopes, the executive secretary of the UN Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), tried to work through Xinhua to draw global attention to the African continent’s economic potential, reports Xinhua.

The only way to achieve inclusive growth by African countries is to engage on massive industrialization drive of their economies, the Executive Secretary, United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), Carlos Lopes has said.

"My country has invested a lot in this as it is a cross-cutting issue that goes beyond yield and productivity," Mr. Sall said. "The country is now industrializing its agriculture sector," he added.

The 24th edition of the World Economic Forum on Africa is currently taking place in Abuja, Nigeria. The event, which has brought together close to 1,000 regional and global leaders, is centered on the theme of forging inclusive growth and creating jobs for Africa’s growing population.
