Addis Ababa, 24 May 2013 (ECA) - The 47th meeting of the NEPAD Steering Committee kicked off on 23 May 2013 in Addis Ababa, with the demonstration of an information database on the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA)

The Virtual PIDA Information Center (VPic), which was presented by NEPAD Agency CEO Ibrahim Mayaki is a multilingual, multimedia web-portal on the activities of PIDA. The portal includes details about projects and status of implementation.

Mayaki said with the support of a South African company, NEPAD was able to upload the Vpic on to portable computers. The platform will be made available to all heads of state and members of Heads of State and Government Orientation Committee (HSGOC) in French and English.

During the meeting, the representatives of newly elected leaders of HSGOC were introduced. They are representative of the leaders of Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Chad, Mauritania and Tanzania.
