WHAT: Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development 2016       

THEME: Ensuring inclusive and integrated implementation and follow-up of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Agenda 2063.

WHO: The event is jointly organized by the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), the African Union Commission (AUC) and the Government of the Arabic Republic of Egypt in collaboration with UN DESA, UNPFA, UNDP and; the African Development Bank (AfDB)

OBJECTIVE: To ensure inclusive and integrated implementation and follow-up of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Africa’s Agenda 2063

PARTICIPANTS:  African member States of ECA including high level experts from ministries/agencies in charge of planning/finance, environment and social affairs, mining and mineral resources, and science and technology; Regional Economic Communities; United Nations and other international agencies and organizations; Representatives of major groups and stakeholders including civil society, business and industry organizations, academia, and research institutions; and Development Partners
