The Ministry of Economy and Development Planning of Chad and the Sub-regional Office for Central Africa of the UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) are co-organizing a workshop for external validation of theIndustrialization and Economic Diversification Masterplan of Chad (PDIDE).
The ultimate goal of the workshop is to finalize the Plan with experts and other international contributors to enable the Chadian government operationalize it.
It should be recalled that work on developing the PDIDE was launched in N'Djamena on 17 September 2018 on the basis of technical assistance and preliminary work carried out by ECA.
The final product (Master Plan) will, among other things, depict the structural characteristics of future industrial value chains and a development strategy based on Chad's comparative advantages in the Central African economy and the opportunities offered by the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
