Exhibition

Background

The 2nd ministerial conference is being organized in accordance with the resolution of the first conference of ministers which requested the conference of African ministers responsible for civil registration to be institutionalized as a standing regional forum that would be organized every two years. The primary objective of the 2nd ministerial conference is to review progress since the first conference and provide policy and political guidance on future engagements. The Government of the Republic of South Africa is hosting the second ministerial conference

Objectives of the Exhibition

The exhibition is one of the channels through which countries and regional development partners involved in CRVS will showcase their progress and/or achievements related to the deliverables of the first conference of African Ministers in charge of Civil Registration. The deliverables emanates from the declarations of the first ministerial conference and the key action points and the respective players can be referred in the document “A call to action” which can be found on the website:http://www.uneca.org/crmc/.

Exhibitors are highly encouraged to prepare Exhibition Note, which describes and cross reference what they have exhibited. This Exhibition Note can be distributed to participants and/or posted on the web for easy reference by visitors. A sample Exhibition Note is now available on the website.

Participants of the conference

The number of participants to the 2nd conference of ministers is expected to be around 350 and includes:

  •     Ministers in charge of civil registration from African countries
  •     Heads of Civil Registration Offices
  •     Heads of National Statistics Offices
  •     Experts from civil registration and national statistics offices
  •     Regional, sub-regional and international organizations which are involved in the work of civil registration and vital statistics

Exhibition booth reservation

Countries and partners interested to exhibit need to fill exhibitor’s registration form (Form I - annexed with this guide) and send it back to the organizers using the contact information below. Please note that there is a limited number of exhibition spaces available and the organizers will adopt a first come first serve criteria in selection of exhibitors.
