The ECA Office for North Africa will hold on 26-27 September 2018 in Rabat (Morocco) an Expert Group Meeting (EGM) on "Quality of institutions and structural transformation:distortions and resource allocation in North Africa”, with the participation of governance experts from member States and international institutions.

Participants will examine the link between ressource allocation and economic transformation in North Africa, with a focus on the impact of production factor allocation on total factor productivity. They will discuss the tools and data needed to evaluate the impact of resource allocation on productivity and the institutional reforms required for a more efficient allocation of resources.

An ECA study on the same topic will be completed in accordance with participants’ recommendations.
