O secretário-executivo da Comissão Económica das Nações Unidas para África, Carlos Lopes, afirmou, esta quarta-feira, em Maputo que Moçambique terá de resolver o problema da dívida de uma forma «rápida e espetacular», para vencer a atual conjuntura económica adversa.

"Evidentemente que Moçambique vai ter de resolver o problema da dívida de uma forma mais rápida e espectacular e isto não vai ser possível sem fazer uma reestruturação de uma parte desta dívida", afirmou Carlos Lopes.

No próximo dia 6 de julho, o anfiteatro da Universidade Politécnica, em Maputo, Moçambique, receberá a mesa redonda “Como Restaurar o Otimismo e Esperança na Sociedade Moçambicana", com Carlos Lopes e Magid Osman.

Monrovia, Liberia, June 28, 2016 (ECA) – Economic Commission for Africa Executive Secretary, Mr. Carlos Lopes, last week met with Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf to discuss continental issues including industrialization, regional integration and sustainable development goals, among others.

Out of the 54 African States, only eight have not experienced armed or violent conflict since they achieved independence between the 1950 and 1980s, Carlos Lopes, Executive Director of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) told a joint meeting of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the Peacebuilding Commission (PBC).
