Countries become good at things because they want to excel at making those particular things,” renowned Development Economist Mr. Ha-Joon Chang told an audience on 3rd April at the second Annual Adebayo Adedeji Lecture during Africa Development Week, currently taking place at Economic Commission for Africa headquarters in Addis Ababa.

The 17th Session of the Regional Coordination Mechanism for Africa (RCM-Africa) kicked off in Addis Ababa, amidst calls for better coordination in the implementation of the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the global Sustainable Development Goals (Agenda 2030).
