Africa Innovation and Investment Forum 2020 - Innovation in Government Challenge for COVID-19

****Application Submission Closed****

Introduction

There is increasing realization that governments are not just consumers of technology and innovation but also key drivers and even leaders in developing innovative solutions that empower citizens to determine their own futures, enhance business competitiveness and testing ground for new technological and non-technological innovations. COVID-19 has highlighted how different public sector agencies have collaborated with academia and industry to bring innovations that helped save millions of lives.

This call targets government agencies and their partners that have harnessed technology and innovation in the COVID-19 fight. These may include public-private innovativeness in areas that need special attention (e.g. remote learning, service delivery etc) as well as other organizational and marketing innovations to ensure key services are delivered safely and all citizens are kept informed, economically and socially active, etc.

Who should apply?

This call is open to all governments and their departments, agencies and partners – public or private, local or international partners. Individual or team initiatives that may fall in government innovation categories are welcome.

Why should you participate?

Besides the opportunities to meet business and government leaders, the top 20 innovations selected will be profiled on the ECA and partners’ websites; and the top 10 in each category will be given the opportunity to convince and get the support of judges, governments, investors and potential partners and collaborators.
