Assessing Regional Integration in Africa, Vol VII: what you should note

Launch of the Africa Regional Integration Index

Background

The Africa Regional Integration Index is the first systematic, continent-wide instrument for measuring the progress made by African countries in implementing the continent’s regional integration frameworks. Developed jointly by African Development Bank, African Union Commission and ECA the index measures all 54 African countries’ progress in integrating with their respective regional economic communities.

The index is intended both as a monitoring and evaluation tool and a dashboard for policy makers on regional integration issues. New data for the index will be collected each year and reports will be published on a regular basis.

The launch on 02 April 2016 from 12:30-14:00 at the Large Briefing Room is open to all delegates.
