Partnerships with the UN System

In recent years, the UN System has emerged as one of the major pillars of international support for the AU and NEPAD programme. The nature and scope of that support has broadened in the past few years, encompassing a variety of activities including technical assistance for institutional development, capacity-building, project development, resource mobilisation and advocacy.

About NEPAD

The New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) is a Programme of the African Union (AU) that seeks to eradicate poverty, place African countries, both individually and collectively, on a path of sustainable growth and development, build the capacity of Africa to participate actively in the world economy and body politic, and accelerate the empowerment of women.

NEPAD launches Virtual PIDA information system

Addis Ababa, 24 May 2013 (ECA) - The 47th meeting of the NEPAD Steering Committee kicked off on 23 May 2013 in Addis Ababa, with the demonstration of an information database on the Programme for Infrastructure Development in Africa (PIDA)

The Virtual PIDA Information Center (VPic), which was presented by NEPAD Agency CEO Ibrahim Mayaki is a multilingual, multimedia web-portal on the activities of PIDA. The portal includes details about projects and status of implementation.

ECA should promote cross-country experiences on agricultural transformation – Ethiopian Minister
