The sub-regional coordination mechanism North Africa will be holding its third consultation meeting on 5 December 2016. This event builds on similar meetings held in in 2015 and 2014, and which have led to the adoption of a regional platform to support the Arab Maghreb Union (UMA) around a number of joint action lines.

The SRCM-North Africaannual meeting is a key consultation framework for the programming and coordination of support to the UMA. Its role is to (i) define activities to be implemented under the upcoming practice, on the basis of needs expressed by the UMA and the partners’ commitment, (ii) develop an advocacy for resources mobilization, (iii) assess the implementation of planned activities, and (iv) annually report to the Regional Coordination Mechanism-Africa.
