The main purpose of this regular LPI Steering Committee Meeting is to review the progress made in the implementation of decisions taken during last meeting held in November 2014, review and approve the LPI work plan for 2015, and reflect on and provide strategic guidance with regard to emerging land issues. The meeting will be chaired by the African Union Commission (AUC) and attended by Steering Committee members, who are representatives of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), African Development Bank (AfDB), the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) Agency, the Pan-African Parliament, Regional Economic Communities (RECs), the Pan African Farmers Organization (PAFO). Representatives of the European Union, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), UN-Habitat, and the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) will also attend the meeting as observers. The Steering Committee Meeting will be preceded on 7 May 2015 by a planning meeting with joint implementers.
