African Statistical Yearbook 2007

The 2007 African Statistical Yearbook, the twenty fifth issue, presents data arranged on a country basis for 53 ECA Member States, generally for the years 1998 to 2006 or for the most recent nine years for which data are available. It is published in one volume, according to the following arrangement:
When data presented in this yearbook differ from the corresponding data for the same year, given in the earlier edition, this reflects corrections or revisions made as a result of the receipt of further information.
Section 1 contains summary tables which generally cover the years 1985, 1990, 1995, 2000 together with the period 2001-2006 or the most recent five years for which data are available . In order to facilitate inter-country comparisons, the same unit is used for identical tables. However, the coverage, concepts and definitions of data used by individual countries may vary. Readers are, therefore, advised to refer to the individual country footnotes for detailed explanations.
