Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

The twelfth Annual Local Network Forum (ALNF) and UN System Private Sector Focal Points Meeting (PSFP) will take place at the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa Headquarters in Addis Ababa, from 9-13 June 2014. Jointly organized by the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA), the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), this year's theme for the United Nations Global Compact Meetings is advancing partnerships and responsible business leadership. The meetings will explore effective ways to enhance the engagement of the private sector and the United Nations system in activities and partnerships that advance Africa's sustainable development priorities.

The PSFP sessions will focus on innovative approaches to job creation and inclusive growth, cultivating relationships with SMEs and local-level subsidiaries, and partnerships to implement the post-2015 development agenda. The twelfth ALNF will convene Global Compact Local Networks from around the world to discuss key governance issues, explore ways to collaborate, and develop strategies for implementing the Global Compact principles in the advancement of the Post-2015 Development Agenda.
