13th International Colloquium of Rabat to discuss the cost of “Non-Maghreb”, regional integration and employment

Rabat, December 4, 2019 (ECA) - The Economic Commission for Africa, the WTO Chair of the Mohamed V University of Rabat and their partners will hold on 5-7 December 2019 the 13th edition of the International Conference of Rabat, under the theme: "Continental Free Trade Area and Regional Integration in Africa as Drivers for Sustainable Growth and Job Creation".

This colloquium aims to foster interaction and exchange between researchers from Africa and the Mediterranean region around themes of common interest. This event will provide participants with an opportunity to analyze the cost of lack of integration in the Maghreb region and the influence of regional integration and regional value chains on the transformation and diversification of economies.

Participants will also discuss the challenges to be addressed in relation to the implementation of the AfCFTA as well as trade facilitation arrangements in Africa.The 13th edition of the International Colloquium of Rabat is an event jointly organized by the Economic Commission for Africa, the WTO Chair of the Mohamed V University of Rabat, The Faculty of Legal, Economic and Social Sciences of Souissi, the Laboratory of Applied Economics for Development (LEAD, University of Toulon) and the Laboratory of Studies and Legal and Political Research (LERJP, University Mohammed V of Rabat).
