Launch of the #HonestService Public Service Delivery Campaign.

Nouakchott, 28 June 2018 (ECA) - The UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) invites all media attending the AU Summit to the launch of a public service delivery campaign tagged #HonestService.

This campaign will be launched with the participation of UN Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed, ECA’s Executive Secretary Vera Songwe, as well as representatives of African Member States.

Through the eyes of Africa’s youth, the campaign aims to provide a snapshot of the state of services in Africa, where public and service workers conduct themselves in fair, honest and upfront manner in their interactions with customers and citizens. The campaign will capture their stories and celebrate the efforts that are critical in making Africa work, turning the wheels necessary for Africa’s progress and thereby provide an alternative approach to the corruption narrative that has overwhelmed the great work and service these people perform with a smile.

This event will take place Saturday at 11.00 am at the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Mauritania
