Theinaugural NELGA Project Steering Committee (PSC) will be held on 26 November 2015. This follows the recent (July) signing of the ECA/BMZ/World Bank agreement in which the three partners defined areas of cooperation and modalities to establish a network of excellence on land governance in Africa. A financing agreement is soon to be signed between GIZ and ECA in this regard for the NELGA project, to be complemented by a trust fund established at the World Bank. The PSC will be informed by the outcomes of a NELGA planning meeting to be held on 7 October 2015 to develop annual plans and budgets to guide project implementation by the three implementing partners—LPI, GIZ and the World Bank. The PSC will examine the work plans and budgets and review progress made with a view to providing guidance on how to address emergent issues and challenges.
