In Gambia, GBoS (the NSO) partner institution (TRI) was the school of information, technology and communication. The TRI has successfully developed an Android and web interface platform for Consumer Price Index (CPI) and Producer Price Index (PPI). The TRI also carried on the data collection with the support of the NSO.

In determining the feasibility of the project in The Gambia, the TRI conducted a preliminary survey on the use of mobile devices to collect and analyze data. The result gathered indicated that four institutions in the country were using similar technology, however none of the applications or devices used were developed in The Gambia or by Gambians.

The Gambia Bureau of Statistics (GBoS) collect monthly price of 207 items. The data collection covers 28 different market centres spread across all regions in the country; (7 in the Greater Banjul, 11 in South Bank, 10 in North Bank) ranging from Banjul to Basse. Every month, prices are collected at most three times and vary from market to market depending on the market size.
