The Land Policy Initiative (LPI) participates in the Global Soil Week 2015, hosted by the Institute of Advanced Sustainability Studies (IASS), by contributing to a panel discussion on land governance organized in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). The LPI will also participate in a review session of the draft Technical Guide on Land Investments for the Private Sector, and various sessions on the way forward towards the implementation of the Voluntary Guidelines on the Governance of the Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security (VGGT). In view of the partnership between the LPI and FAO, the event will provide an opportune platform for learning and sharing experiences on land governance. The theme of the Global Soil Week 2015 is “Soil, the substance of transformation.”
