Title

Workshop to validate the draft report on “Effective land administration in Africa”
Thursday, December 11, 2014 to Friday, December 12, 2014
Kigali, Rwanda

Participants in the two-day workshop will review the draft report on “Effective land administration in Africa”, with a view to validate information, data and evidence included in the document.  A second objective of the validation workshop is to reach consensus on follow–up activities by the Land Policy Initiative (LPI) and its partners in areas such as awareness raising and advocacy, capacity development and peer learning, and monitoring and evaluation towards effective land administration systems in Africa. The workshop will bring together about 30 land experts and participants from all over Africa and beyond, representing government agencies, civil society organizations, private sector, and development partners. The validation workshop is organized by the LPI in collaboration with the Government of Rwanda, the Subregional Office for Eastern Africa of the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, and the East African Community (EAC).
