60th Anniversary of the UN Economic Commission for Africa
Stakes, Opportunities and Challenges of Economic Diversification in Central Africa
Wednesday, December 12, 2018
Yaounde, Cameroon

The UN Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. It is a time to take stock of the Commission’s achievements and reflect on its next steps for supporting social and economic development in Africa as well as building partnerships for the continent. At the Subregional Office for Central Africa of the Commission, it is a time to boldly showcase ECA to all our constituencies and the general public and give impetus to the Office’s theory of change on producing and delivering for impact in terms of support to member States on economic diversification predicated on trade-induced industrialisation.

The Subregional Office will mark the anniversary with a colloquium on the Stakes, Opportunities and Challenges of Economic Diversification in Central Africa, on 12 December 2018 at the Yaounde Hilton, in Cameroon. It will be presided over by Cameroon’s Minister of Economy, Planning and Regional Development – Mr Alamine Ousmane Mey.
