The Joint IDEP/MEFMI course on deeper regional integration is therefore intended to impart participants with knowledge in implementing deeper integration processes, including the related challenges on prevailing disparities in policies, regulations, political commitment, limited intra-regional linkages and infrastructure bottlenecks. The course will facilitate interactive engagement and brainstorming on adjustment requirements (such as services liberalization and regulatory harmonization, among others) and policy options for deeper regional integration. Obstacles militating against the region’s advancement towards attainment of deeper integration (e.g. existence of non-tariff barriers) will be discussed.

IDEP and MEFMI strongly encourage and support the participation of suitably qualified female officials in its capacity development and training programme.
