Title

Regional consultation on integrative projects in the CEMAC Zone
Accelerating the physical and commercial integration in CEMAC zone
Thursday, July 4, 2019 to Saturday, July 6, 2019
Douala, Cameroon

In view of accelerating the process of CEMAC member States’ physical integration, the 14th Ordinary Session of the CEMAC Conference of Heads of State (held on 24 March 2019 in N'Djamena, Chad) and the 8th session of the Steering Committee of the Economic and Financial Reform Program of CEMAC – PREF-CEMAC (held on March 31, 2019 in Douala, Cameroon) prescribed a regional consultation on the community’s integrative projects in view of a collective approach to financial resource mobilization.

The main objective of this meeting, which will be held from 4 to 7 July 2019 in Douala – Cameroon, is to identify the relevance of the 13 projects included in the PER 2017-2021 operational plan in order to prioritize the implementation of those that are seen to have reached maturity. In addition, the delegates will have to spell-out the priorities of their countries in terms of proven integrative projects being identified and/or implemented as part of their public investment programs.

During the meeting, ECA's Subregional Office for Central Africa will provide advice on project financial-resource mobilization strategies for the integrative projects and do a simulation on aligning CEMAC’s Regional Economic Program (PER, in French) with the UN’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Agenda 2063 of the African Union.
