About

ECA’s core aim is to promote knowledge delivery and the efficient utilization of policy research in member States; as well as to support governments, and pan-African institutions in building and strengthening their capabilities at individual, organizational and institutional levels to achieve Africa’s transformation agenda.

The Capacity Development Strategy, approved by the Conference of Ministers in Abuja, in 2014 “articulates how the Economic Commission for Africa, in its acknowledged areas of competence, supports its member States, the African Union, Regional Economic Communities and other Pan African institutions in order to strengthen their capacity to promote and achieve sustainable and inclusive economic growth, and to accelerate structural transformation in the context of the African Union priorities and its NEPAD Programme as well as Agenda 2063”.
