workshop and meetings in support of land governance and agricultural transformation in Tanzania

The Land Policy Initiative (LPI) in partnership with the Government of Tanzania will hold a workshop and a series of meetings from 19-23 June 2017 in support of land governance and agricultural transformation in Tanzania.

These events comprise consultations with ministers and senior leadership in the land and agricultural sectors in Dodoma (19-21 June); a workshop to validate the Country Report on Mainstreaming Land Governance in the Comprehensive Africa Agricultural Development Programme (CAADP) and launch of the Pilot Project on Monitoring and Evaluation for Land Governance (MELA) in Dar es Salaam (23 June); and a meeting of the Secretariat coordinating the mainstreaming of land governance in land related sectors (22 June).

These projects are part of cross country pilots being implemented by the LPI to facilitate the implementation of the AU Agenda on land and the CAADP agenda. They are being executed by the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Human Settlements Development; the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, including the CAADP secretariat. The projects are supported by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD); the European Union (EU); International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) and the German Corporation for International Cooperation (GIZ).
