Bid to host the 3rd AfIGF 2014

Dear Stakeholders,

The 3rd AfIGF is expected to be held from June 2014, in a member State other than Egypt and Kenya.

Given a number of countries showing interest in hosting the third AfIGF, the secretariat would like to facilitate the selection of the host country for the third AfIGF and invite countries to submit expressions of interest to the AfIGF Secretariat.

Eligibility and criteria for submission of expression of interest:

Hosting of the AfIGF secretariat

Based on the model of the global Internet Governance Forum (IGF) secretariat, which is hosted by the United Nations Department of Economic Affairs (UNDESA), African Internet Governance Forum (AfIGF) secretariat is hosted by the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA).

The African Union Commission will fully support the secretariat in its activities to fulfill its mandate.
