MEETINGS OF THE SUB-REGIONAL OFFICE FOR WEST AFRICA OF THE UNITED NATIONS ECONOMIC COMMISSION FOR AFRICA
Dakar, Senegal from 23 to 26 February 2015
You have been designated to participate at the Ad Hoc Experts Group Meeting that will focus “Innovative Financing for the Structural Transformation of West African Economies” (23 to 24 February 2016), and/or at the nineteenth Session of the Intergovernmental Committee of Experts (19th ICE) of West Africa (25 to 26 February 2016) under the theme: “ECA Country Profiles: Tools in support of the Structural Transformation of West African Countries”.”.
These Meetings are organized by the Sub regional Office for West Africa of the Economic Commission of the United Nations for Africa in collaboration the Government of Senegal.
This note provides some important guidelines for the conduct of the meeting.

TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS
The participants who are sponsored by ECA should have received their e-ticket or will be sent one as soon as possible. The participants who are sponsored by their country or other organization are asked to communicate their travel plan to Mrs. Balkissa Allagbada (abalkissa@uneca.org) and Mrs. Sani Zara (zsani@uneca.org ) to ensure the timely pickup from Dakar airport and transportation to their chosen Hotel.
For your information, participants from countries who are members of ECOWAS will not need entry visa to Senegal. Those participants who are non ECOWAS members are responsible for getting their own visa before entry into Senegal. Participants are requested to travel with their certificate of vaccination, which could be required by the sanitary authorities at the airport. The hotel bus will be available to transfer at the place of accommodation.

If you decide to stay in these hotels kindly contact them to reserve your room in advance and keep the Secretariat informed. Participants intending to stay in other hotels should also inform the ICE Secretariat.This is to ensure maximum synergy between different actors in order to achieve the objectives and to facilitate the movement of all participants to the conference venue.
All bills are participants’ responsibility and should be paid before leaving the hotel.
We recall that it is important that participants give detailed information on their flight plan information.
PER DIEM (DSA)
The daily per diem using UN norms will be paid to participants sponsored by ECA. This includes daily subsidence allowance and lodging allowance, which should be paid to the hotel by the participants. The per diem for the month of February in Dakar is 232 US dollars (139.000 FCFA). This amount could vary in function of the cost of the dollar and other UN factors.
The per diems of participants sponsored by ECA will be made available to them by checks at UNDP Dakar.
SECRETARIAT
The Secretariat will be located at the meetings’ venue. The documents, the work programme and registration forms, and other documents will be distributed to participants upon arrival. The duly filled forms are returned on the first day of the meeting.
TIME AND WEATHER
Dakar time corresponds to Universal Time (Greenwich Mean Time). The weather in february is slightly hot and humid, with temperatures varying between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius.
