The Land Policy Initiative (LPI) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) will organize on 3 and 4 May 2016 the third capitalization meeting of the EU Land Governance Programme in Africa. The meeting will review progress made in the execution of country level and transversal projects, as they relate to the implementation of Voluntary Guidelines on the Responsible Governance of Tenure of Land, Fisheries and Forests in the Context of National Food Security (VGGT) and the Framework and Guidelines on Land Policy in Africa (F&G). The meeting will also provide an opportunity for project implementing organizations at country level to share experiences and lessons learned. Participants at the meeting represent in-country projects from Angola, Burundi, Côte d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, Kenya, Malawi, Niger, Somalia, South Sudan and Swaziland. The meeting will be followed by a one-day training programme focused on monitoring and evaluation, and knowledge management topics.
