In partnership with AUDA-NEPAD, IDEP will be organizing a high-level policy dialogue on Africa Energy Planning Policy, followed by a 2-day training from 22 to26 July 2019.
The objectives of the workshop are two-fold : i) The policy dialogue will focus on capacity development in the design and development of energy program spearheaded by AUDA-NEPAD that will lead to the design and development of energy access and Security in Africa; ii) in the other hand the overall objective of the training (interactive learning platform) will be to decipher challenges and opportunities of energy access and how usable, reliable, sustainable and affordable electrification can be enhancing to the productive capacity and communities.
Through thought-provoking presentations, it will be expected from participants during the policy dialogue to express their current and pressing needs regarding Energy Planning and Policy at country level.
Around fifty (50) participants are expected to attend this event, and top-level professionals and experts with a deep knowledge of, and experience in Energy are invited by IDEP and the AUDA-NEPAD to intervene and facilitate the sessions (with simultaneous interpretation French and English). The training will be streamlined to focus on energy planning and management including an overview of the principles of modelling with the substantive support of the UN Economic Commission for Africa.
